Description

Known by its scientific name, “Asclepias Tuberosa,” this type of Milkweed hails from the Lake Wales Ridge and Polk County in Florida. This Milkweed is peculiarly adapted to Florida’s xeric, interior uplands and scrub habitats.

Though not officially classified as endangered, each plant species within the Lake Wales Ridge is truly under threat due to loss of habitat and the unchecked spread of invasive species.

This Milkweed is a rare and valuable specimen, and its price reflects its rarity. It originates from a select few mother plants located on our conservation land on the Lake Wales Ridge. We are releasing less than 10% of the total available seeds for sale, ensuring that 90% remain with the mother plants for ongoing natural propagation, a measure that well exceeds the guidelines of the Center for Plant Conservation.
